JE Workers Move to Brand-new Dormitories

August 14th, 2016 is an exciting day, on which all JE workers move to Sungei Tengah Lodge, where they are accommodated by brand-new dormitories.

Sponsored by Singapore government, the Lodge was build up in compliance with new standards of accommodation for workers employed in Singapore. Featured by green and beautiful surroundings, nice and neat settings, it has good ventilation and well-equipped facilities for sports and entertainment. In addition, it offers easy access to dining, shopping and transportation as well.

Before this event, most of JE workers were living in Yishun Workers’ camp, of which ventilation, living space and insufficient public utilities were always challenging due to the outdated criteria for its construction, but the challenge remains pending in the account of large number of workers and stringent government regulations on foreign workers’ living space.

JE’s top endeavors to put the situation to an end. After survey and comparison, Sungei Lodge was finally picked out. It takes only half day for around 60 workers to move to their new places after deliberate planning and mobilization.

This move serves as an illustration to JE’s people-orientated and humanistic culture, also a manifesto of the company’s cohesiveness and high execution capacity.
