A Fatal Accident by Falling from LMR Opening

On the evening of Dec 17th, 2016, a fatal accident happened in a building under construction near the railway station of Changsha City, capital of Hunan Province, where Mr. Zhang, a worker of 28 years old, fell into lift pit 4 levels underground from the opening in lift motor room at 27th floor above ground.

A Reporter of Hunan TV was told the victim was Mr. Zhang, a 28-year-old painter, who fell through the openings in the lift motor-room when he was moving a scaffolding to paint the wall inside the motor room, after he started to work on the site just one month ago.

The opening inside the motor room is reserved for lift wire rope, but was not covered when the accidents happened.

Police commenced to investigate the mishap, and the contractor also starts to talk with Mr. Zhang’s family about the compensation.
